IHFC Executive Council Member
Larry Hanus
Larry Hanus is a traditional naturopath and bodywork/energy practitioner. On a family farm he learned
firsthand about healthcare while providing animal husbandry for the livestock. At ten years of age, a
life-molding event occurred which inspired him down his journey into the world of healing. Following an
accident where a piglet had its leg nearly severed and not wanting to get into trouble, he secretly cleansed
and sutured the wound, using his mothers needle and thread. The piglet was sequestered away, nurtured
back to health, and clandestinely inserted back into the herd.
In 1979 he graduated from dental school and practiced for 13 years. In 1994 his license to practice dentistry
was indefinitely suspended for informing patients of the dangers of mercury in "silver" dental amalgam
fillings.
State dental boards had adopted the ADAs "gag rule" to prosecute dentists who informed patients about
the dangers of mercury fillings.
Attorneys General in Oregon and Iowa have recently determined the "gag rule" to be unconstitutional.
The California state Supreme Court has now agreed to hear an appeal of a dental mercury case charging
the California Dental Association with deception and fraud in regard to the safety of dental mercury fillings.
Over the years since his suspension he has been active along with DAMS (an organization of international
grass-roots survivors of Dental Amalgam Mercury Syndrome and related health care professionals)
appearing on Jan Michaelsons talk radio show, cable TV shows, and numerous public speaking
engagements on natural healing.
Currently, teaching massage therapy and having a private practice which includes nutrition, life-styles
management, stress-mitigation, and chronic pain relief, his particular areas of interest in the healing arts
are spiritual and physical de-toxification including heavy metals and neurotoxins, Applied
Kinesiology/muscle testing, cranio-sacral therapy, and age/event regressions.
Other interests are promoting health freedom activism, classical music, walks in the woods, and good food
and hopes to travel the world.
