Iowa Health Freedom Coalition

The Iowa Health Freedom Coalition is a non-profit volunteer organization of holistic healthcare educators,
practitioners, and consumers seeking to legally protect the publics' freedom of access to the natural healing
arts in Iowa.
Selected Activities to date:
Creation of opportunities for ongoing dialog with Iowa Citizens, Iowa Senators and Representatives,
Executives of Iowa Department of Health, Iowa Medical Society, Iowa Board of Medical Examiners and related
agencies and organizations.
Participated in testimony before Dept. of Health and Massage Therapy Board in regard to HF 204 "modalities
related to massage therapy" which resulted in selective exemptions from massage therapy licensure.
Introduced SF 294 / HF 477 to ensure public access to un-licensed alternative health care practitioners which
educated legislators to the needs for access to alternative practitioners, but did not pass and awaits
re-introduction in the next legislative session.
Joined BEAT,IA in lobbying for Iowa SF 2009 to ban thimerosal / mercury preservatives in childhood vaccines.
Developed video, graphic, and written documents for Iowa projects, some now being used nationally by the
National Health Freedom Coalition.
Currently participating in organizational strategy for long-term national Health Freedom Legislation.
